Overview - Extracts (Utilities)

Who can use this feature? 

By default, Admin users with Utilities permissions 

Purpose

In Extracts (Utilities), you can access data extracts for various modules within MetaField. This module makes it easy to view and create .CSV data files for analysis and billing purposes. 

Available actions: 

• Extract specific or all records across MetaField modules 
• Search and filter records by project, client, status, technician, etc. 
• Extract, bill, or unbill selected records in seconds 

Note: Users with Extracts (Utilities) permissions can access all project data, regardless of their data firewall settings and restrictions. Keep this in mind when assigning permissions to this module.

Extract Types 

For Activity and Sample Tracking records, two extract options are available when selecting a single form type: 

• Standard: Choose from fields configured in Admin under Search/Results Display settings. 
• User-Configured: Choose from all fields associated with the form. 

For multiple forms, only Admin-configured fields in Search/Results Display settings are available 

Extract All Records is ideal for extracting large datasets spanning multiple pages. 

Using Extracts – What to Expect 

Extracts is split into various subsections, including: 

• Scheduling & Dispatch 
  • Extracts work order records. Times display according to the Project Time Zone setting. Add the Project Time Zone field to interpret times across multiple zones and projects. 

• Activity 
  • Extracts activity records. Filter panel and results grid are configurable. Data extraction is limited to like forms. Extract columns are not saved for future use. Multi-form extract fields must be configured in Administration under Search/Display Results settings. 

• Safety 
  • Extracts safety records. Filter panel and results grid are configurable. Data extraction is limited to like forms, and extract columns are not saved. Multi-form extract fields require configuration in Administration (Search/Display Results settings). 

• Nuclear Gauge 
  • Extracts nuclear gauge records. Manual Count data is unavailable for extraction, as these records are assumed to be maintained outside MetaField. 

• Density Testing 
  • Extracts density test records. Extracts must be filtered by Test Type. 

• Concrete/Grout/Mortar 
  • Extracts C/G/M records. Offers two data views: Sample and Specimen. Billing a Sample record marks all related Specimen records as billed. Field Tests and Batch Logs are extracted and billed only through the sample extract. 

• Sampling/Sample Tracking 
  • Extracts sample tracking records. Offers two data views: Sample/Specimen and Test. Billing is independent between Sample/Specimen and Test records. Filter panel and results grid are configurable. Multi-form extract fields require configuration in Administration (Search/Display Results settings). 

• Evaluation 
  • Extracts evaluation records. 

• Billing Cost 
  • Extracts billing costs. Field/column selection is not available. Extracted fields include: 
    • Bill Export Date 
    • Field Cost ID 
    • Project Details (ID, Number, Name) 
    • Client Name 
    • Work Item, Date, Cost Info (Type, Unit, Total, Notes) 
    • Lab Info (Number, Name) 
• Soil Proctor 
  • Extracts soil proctor data. Field/column selection is unavailable. Extracted fields include: 
    • Bill Export Date 
    • Project Details (ID, Number, Name) 
    • Client Name 
    • Proctor ID 

• Bituminous 
  • Extracts bituminous data. Field/column selection is unavailable. Extracted fields include: 
    • Bill Export Date 
    • Project Details (ID, Number, Name) 
    • Client Name 
    • Sample ID, Test Method 

• Delivery 
  • Extracts delivery data.
