MetaField Configurable (DIY) Forms

Purpose

MetaField supports configurable forms for data collection and reporting. These custom-built forms power everything from field and lab workflows to client-facing reports, all tailored to your firm’s specific needs. 

The MetaField team will build these configurable forms for you, so you can stay focused on your work. However, you also have the flexibility to create and manage your own forms using the tools below: 

• Forms & Reports Library: A catalog of pre-designed forms and associated reports 
• Form Designer: A tool for building custom data collection forms 
• Report Designer: A tool for designing report outputs based on your forms 

Forms & Reports Library 

The Forms & Reports Library is a repository for all field and lab forms used to log work in MetaField, including: 

• Lab Test Template Forms: Pre-configured to meet governing standards and ready for immediate use. These forms can also be customized to fit local or project-specific needs. 
• Activity, Evaluation, and Safety Template Forms: Foundational templates you can use as-is, or tailor to your firm’s requirements. 

Access the library from the Admin module by selecting Forms & Reports Library. For a guided walkthrough, click Take a Tour. 

From the library, you can create new forms with the + Create button, or quickly import form templates from the MetaField Forms Store. Newly created or imported forms will appear in your library, where they can be managed or further customized.

Form Designer 

Form Designer allows the MetaField team to create configurable forms for your inspections, field tests, lab tests, and more. If needed, your staff can also leverage this tool to build new forms or adjust existing ones.

Report Designer is used by MetaField’s team to create custom report outputs for your forms, controlling layout, formatting, and properties. Your staff can also access and use this tool from within the Form Designer.
